Welcome to my blog. I’m going to fill it with stories that hopefully most will be able to relate to. My life as lives go is nothing special, but my purpose is to make others realize that nothing special can still be spectacular.

I think to truly understand about being second, we need to go back to the beginning. We were a family of six living in a two bedroom, one bathroom home. We lived in a rural area so there were no other kids in our neighbourhood so my two sisters, my brother and I had to get along with one another. Did we? No, not all the time and we really had some drag em out fights. These were the early beginnings of communication, The beginnings of working things out. We were taught as kids that life is rarely fair. That more often then naught we would be second and these were skills that would come in handy in the future.

I remember a time when I was barely a teenager. My Dad had redone the garage and put panelling up on the walls. He had gone away for a week and while he was gone we were expected to take out the lawn tractor and mow the grass. Easy enough, until while putting the tractor away I excelerated too quickly and put it into the new panelling making a big hole. This happened on day two of Dad being away so I had to stew for five days until he returned. I thought he would be really mad but instead he turned to me, reassured me that the panelling could be replaced and that the most important thing was I wasn’t hurt. He also taught me that going forward is great but it is also important to know how to stop. Good to know going forward….pun intended.
